I'd totally forgotten about this journal! @ 03:51 pm

Can you believe it?

After having my website redesigned - Have you seen the Devil Woman logo? - and adding a MySpace page, I totally blanked on this journal.  Life does have a way of knocking you off track, doesn't it?

So much has happened since I last posted here.

I have more books out.  I've signed on with yet another publisher.  And my it's almost Christmas time.

At any rate, I will try to do better about posting here.  Below are the URLs for all my other blogs, etc.

Happy holidays, Everyone!

Check out my new website!!! @ 10:05 am

Hey all,

I just had my website redesigned to better reflect my personality and the fact that my books are both paranormal AND funny.

Angie with Millennium Promotion Services (http://www.millenniumpromotion.com) redesigned the whole site and made the little devil woman.  She says the devil woman fits my personality.

I think she may be right.  But I'm not toooo bad, am I?

Anyway, take a moment please and check out the new site at http://www.beverlyrae.com

Thanks,

Beverly

Ah, back from "vacation." @ 03:56 pm

Vacations are great, aren't they?

Yet sometimes, it's even better just to get home.

I just spent 10 days with my family including my parents, my two older brothers and their children.  Then, of course, there were the visitors including everyone from old family friends to my parents' neighbors stopping by.  Don't get me wrong.  I loved seeing everyone.  Especially the brother and his family I hadn't seen in eleven years.  But, whew!  That's not what I call a vacation.

A vacation is when you go away from home to (my choice) a nice, quiet, warm (but not too hot) area where you know no one and no one knows you.  A vacation is when you don't have to do anything; no waking up at a specific time, no eating anything good for you unless you want to, and no doing something to please anyone but yourself.  By that definition, this trip was no vacation.

Instead of lounging by the pool or on the beach, I spent my time arguing (albeit politely) with my brother.  No wonder we haven't seen each other in years!  Instead of sipping a fruity drink with an umbrella stuck in it, I ended up drinking canned soda (I HATE cans!) and fighting for the last one in the frig.  Instead of sleeping late and taking all morning to get out of my jammies, I set the alarm and woke up early so I could be the first in the one tiny bathroom shared by 6 people.  Not to mention the fact that my parents think anything below 85 degrees in the house is too cold.  Who can blow dry their hair when they're sweating?

Then getting home was a blast, too.  (In case you didn't recognize it, that was sarcasm.)

I flew home the day the authorities (applauding the authorities!) broke up the terrorist plot in the UK to blow up a bunch of airplanes headed to America.  Not that I was flying internationally, mind you.  (I wish!)  But it still affected my flight home.  I got to dump all liquid items - which I was happy to do for security's sake - and ship all my tech items (laptop, Palm, Gameboy, and digital camera) home via UPS.  As of this date, they still haven't arrived.

But it was the flight home that was the real fun part.  After getting through the line at security, I was shocked, yet thrilled to find my plane waiting and on time for departure.  Once in the air, I breathed a huge sigh of relief as I flew homeward.  So far, so good, right?  Wrong.  Landing proved to be a problem all on its own.

As we circled my hometown, the pilot came on and said we were being diverted to another airport about 70 miles away.  Why?  Because a storm prevented us from landing and our little puddle-jumper jet was running out of fuel.  No gas?  Sounded like a good reason to land to me.  So off we went.

Once at the other airport, we were informed that my hometown's airport (I'll use Atlanta to fill in a name here) was "shut down."  Of course, the official reason was that lightning was striking planes on the runway in Atlanta.  However, people started flipping open cell phones to phone home.  After the news in England, we weren't going to believe anything.  Who knew?  It could have been a terrorist event instead of the usual afternoon storm.  So...everyone called their loved one except me.  I'd loaned my cell phone to my hubby so I was without.  After begging to use a gentleman's phone, I called and left a message for my hubby.

Two hours later, we finally got the go ahead to fly home.  My scheduled 4 hour trip (from doorstep to doorstep) had taken 12 hours.
But I didn't care.  Once inside the Atlanta airport, I was relieved to see hubby waiting for me.  And amazingly, my luggage had arrived, too.

So, I'll say it again.  Sometimes it's better just to get home.

Only 2 More Days! @ 07:58 pm

Just two more days until the Romance Writers of America Conference begins.  I live on the outskirts of Atlanta so I'll be braving the traffic every day to drive to the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel in downtown.  But it'll be worth it!

So many of my favorite authors will be attending.  Like my promo partner, Betty Hanawa and Terese Ramin.  And other terrific authors will be participating in the "Readers for Life" Literacy Autographing on Wed evening from 5:30 to 8:30.  If you've been dying to get the latest release from your favorite author, this is the time to do it.  Proceeds go to the charity, so it's a double good thing for you!  I'll be signing my anthology (cowritten with Betty Hanawa, Terese Ramin and Sydney Somers) called SEX ON THE BEACH.

Then on Thursday, Hannah Howell and I will be at the Georgia Tech Barnes and Noble Bookstore signing autographs.  I'll be autographing DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT

If you can't find me at those locations, try checking the hotel bar!

Hope to see you there!

I'm Back from Romantic Times Booklovers' Convention! @ 08:12 am

I have to say going to the Romantic Times Booklovers' Convention in Daytona Beach this past week was the most fun I've had in decades.  That's right.  Not just years...decades!

I met so many of my fellow authors, publishers and editors, but the best was meeting the readers.  So many people came up to me to tell me how much they enjoyed my books. Talk about an ego boost!

RT throws the best conventions.  They have workshops, mixers, breakfasts, luncheons and, best of all, parties every night.  And I went to each and every one of them.  Oh, and the Mr. Romance 2006 contest was a blast, too.  Did you know the contestants and other male models mingle in the crowd every day?  See?  I thought that would have you signing up for next year's convention.

I was also at the Book Fair on Saturday and sold out of all my copies of Dancin' in the Moonlight in the first 30 minutes of the fair!  But I still had a great time talking to everyone until I drew the winner of my Pleasure Purse at 2:30.

I hope to see you in Houston in 2007!

Beverly

Dancin' in the Moonlight - available in ebook at http://www.triskelionpublishing.net and in PRINT at Amazon.com.  Or ask your local bookseller for a copy today!

May 14th, 2006

I'm heading to RT! @ 06:07 pm

It's Sunday!  Just 2 days away until I take off for the Romantic Times Booklovers' Convention in Daytona Beach, Florida!

Think of it!  Six glorious day at the Hilton Ocean Walk Village sitting right on the beach.  Six days of networking, meeting fans and getting to know a bunch of wonderful writers.  And, oh, yeah...the cover models will be there as well (tehehehe)

I'm ready for all the parties, too.  I'll have on my Queen of Darkness for the Vampire/Pirate Ball and my special secret fairy costume for the Fairy Ball.  Of course, I plan to be front row center for the Mr. Romance Contest!

This is a great convention open to everyone so I hope to see you there!

Beverly

PS - Thank you so much for your purchases of DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT.   Readers are flocking to purchase their copy from Amazon.com.  I can't wait to see how well it does in the bookstores in June.

DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT is RELEASED! @ 12:04 pm

My latest - and I think, greatest (so far) - book is now released in ebook format.

Here's a little about
DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT
--

Another hysterical story from THE STILL SEXY LADIES GUIDE TO DATING IMMORTALS:

Did Tala Wilde’s dance for her immortal man really work? After that many margaritas it’s hard to tell if howling at the moon was the best way to find a guy.

But is Devlin the perfect mix of man and animal?  After the ribbing her friends gave her about wanting a lover like a wolf she’s a bit cautious especially when she finds him naked in the wolf pen of her zoo.

To get your copy in ebook formats, click
here.

If you'd prefer the book in paperback, then you'll have to wait to get it.  However, you can go ahead and pre-order the book now at
Amazon.com.

Hi all!

Well, we're finally moved into our new home in GA and, after 2 weeks, all of the boxes are out of the house.  Man, this was a hard move.  Or maybe I'm just getting too old to be uprooted?

At any rate, my new book, DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT, will be released in ebook format soon.  Then in May, it comes out in PRINT!  I'm sooooo excited I can't stand it.  In fact, my publisher tells me that it already has preorders.  I am happy dancin' all day now.

Thanks for everyone's support.

Sorry to have been absent for so long ! @ 03:24 pm

Hi Everyone,

Life has gotten so hectic! During the past few months, my husband accepted a new job and we've moving.  In fact, the movers are here packing our possessions as I write this. In the short space of a month, we sold our home here and found another one.

On the writing front, I'll have two new books coming out in 2006 - so far!  They are two very funny stories called MY ANGEL which will be in the Mile High Club Digest for Midnight Showcase.  A naive angel comes to Earth and meets a free-spirited, wild woman who ends up learning how to fly high in more than one way.

DANCIN' IN THE MOONLIGHT is my first werewolf romance.  This humorous, sexy, fun romp will leave you laughing and gasping in awe as you follow Tala Wilde as she meets the perfect man - half human, half wolf.

But the best part is that both of these books will be available in both ebook and PRINT formats!

I'll be out of touch for a little while longer while we transition from one home to another, one state to another.  But don't worry! I fast working on my next book.

Take care,

Beverly

I Got a Puppy for Christmas!!! @ 03:00 pm

Happy Holidays, Everyone!!!

I'm having a great time this holiday.  Especially since my hubby just gave me my present early.

Even though he's always said he'd never get another dog - we already have two - he gave me an adorable Shih-tzu puppy named Maxie.  Maxie's into everything, and he's fit right into the family with the other two dogs. The other two are Wiggles (appropriately named), a 7 yr old Shih-tzu, and Lady (again, appropirately named), a 4 yr old tiny poodle (6 lbs).

I'm overjoyed!!!

I hope all your Christmas wishes come true.

BTW - Watch my website for information on my Biggest Contest ever!!! www.beverlyrae.com

Hugs,

Hi All,

I'm just checking in, taking a break from writing HOWLING AT THE MOON, my next book for Triskelion Publishing.  I love the book, but sometimes you just have to take a break and get away from your latest WIP.

The weather here is phenomenal -- bright, sunny, 70 degrees - perfect!  And I'm inside writing.  I wish like anything I could just get a wine cooler and relax on the patio with the sun beating down on me.  There's just enough of a breeze that sitting in the sun wouldn't get too hot.  Oh, well.

Still waiting for SEX ON THE BEACH Anthology to be released.  The release date was supposed to have been the first of October, but something has delayed release.

Check in with me sometime, okay?  I'd love to know what you're up to.

Have a good week - Beverly
